An eRetreat is an electronic spiritual day of reflection. It is similar to face-to-face gatherings that occur in churches or retreat centers, with one difference. You can participate in these days of reflection from your home LIVE! In October and November of 2002, an eRetreat will be conducted over the telephone in a teleconference format . As we all get comfortable with this exciting new format, we'll add an Internet component to prayerful gatherings. We'll be able to use the computer to read Scripture, write down our thoughts, and discuss bullet points on specific topics. All of this will enhance our meditative sharing.
eRetreats may be private and directed, that is, one-on one, or they may be in a group format. When you choose a private eRetreat , Mary Ann will walk with you along your own very personal path of spiritual growth and self discovery. There will be no set topic. You will be free to talk with Mary Ann on topics of importance to you. If you choose to join a small group eRetreat, you will participate in several live group discussions throughout the day. On a small group eRetreat specific topics will guide the live group discussions (which can be most enjoyable and rewarding) . In either setting (private or small group) Mary Ann will talk with you several times during the day, responding to your spiritual growth needs, praying with you, giving you tasks, readings, and exercises to accomplish between the verbal sharing times. Check out Mary Ann's schedule and learn more about specific eRetreats. Visit the eRetreats payment center when you are ready to register and further instructions will be given.
Small Group eRetreats
The small group eRetreats bring women together (internationally) on specific topics. The topics guide the live group discussions and lead us into our own spiritual journeys. We meet as a group three times during the day of reflection for about an hour each time on a dedicated topic related to self discovery and spiritual growth. Much discussion occurs as well as prayer. Tasks and spiritual reflections are given between audio meetings, and group exercises relating to the dedicated topic become a valuable enhancement of your spiritual growth. You will need a telephone with a speaker function and possibly a headset (so that you can be 'hands-free'). Headsets are inexpensive and can be found at Office Max™, Staples™, and other stores of that variety.
Take some precious time to reflect on self discovery, your spiritual growth and life choices, find God in the midst of too much to do with too little support (not to mention not enough time). Take part in our women’s eRetreats, pray with other women, and learn about women in Scripture who might serve as role models. If you can't get away for a local weekend retreat or if your funds are low, an electronic eRetreat offering several live group discussions might be just what you could use.
